The Cultural Groups
Next week on Wednesday will be our prize giving, which means it would be the day for all of the cultural groups to perform what they have been practicing for the last few weeks. I am in the Samoan cultural group and there is not many people in it. The girls in the group, including me, have already learnt the whole maulu'ulu (girl's traditional Samoan dance). The boys are still learning their siva taupati (boy's slap dance).

School Athletics
Last week on Tuesday in the afternoon, we had school athletics. I was very nervous to run, I was very scared because I thought I would come last.
The first relay I ran in was with the room 12 girls and we had to run the 400 meters race. This was very difficult because you had to run around the field 2 times. I used all my energy on the first round. I ran the last round and came second to last. I came 4th for the 100 meters. I wasn't very lucky on Athletics day but I had fun.

My First Duffy Award
Yesterday afternoon, we had assembly and I got my first Duffy Award for maintaining my reading focus during sustained silent reading. At first I was confused because I was new to this thing but when I sat down one of my friends told me the reason why I went up. Mr Reid and Mrs Golder picked me and Henry for the Duffy Award. The book Mrs Vickers gave me was called, "See You Soon, Samantha" by Lara Bergen. I was very nervous to stand in front of everyone. Mrs Golder took a picture of me and Henry. I was very happy to receive an award.-
